We made a mistake. It is a core value of this show and all those involved that all people be welcomed, valued and have an opportunity to share their voice. The rules and regulations for this Open Call did not reflect this value. We acknowledge that we excluded so many important and beautiful perspectives from this Open Call by defaulting to legal parameters by limiting entry to the Open Call to be exclusively available to naturalized US Citizens. We see the error in this and won’t make this mistake again. Into Action includes the work of undocumented Americans on our walls (curated), on our calls to action and on our team. A percentage of our all income is also being donated to Culture Strike, and organization with a long history of engaging and supporting undocumented artists. We will continue to welcome all Americans, document or otherwise into our planning process and into our exhibitions themselves. Thank you for holding us accountable and allowing us the space to grow.
